18th Century Poetry

Eighteenth-Century Poetry aims to fill a niche among journals of eighteenth-century literature and culture and seeks to publish excellent and innovative studies of the poetry of the long eighteenth century and its contexts. The editor welcomes submissions of 6000-12000 words (preferably as email attachments to the above address) exploring the poetry of the period in the light of the history of ideas, genre, social and cultural history, book history, the publishing trade, and print culture. The journal understands itself as a platform for the discussion, among others, of the canon, poetics, aesthetics, the relationship between poetry and consumer culture, and novel trends in the study of poetry and its forms, modes, and uses. It encourages single-author studies as well as studies of larger scope that re-chart the map of eighteenth-century poetry.

Eighteenth-Century Poetry is published twice a year, in summer and winter, in association with the Centre for the Study of Text and Print Culture, Ghent University, by Academia Press, Ghent. The first issue is due in summer 2011.
